The Abu Dhabi Community Cooperative (ADCC) has announced the launch of its online “Hoot Marketplace”, which became accessible to users from the first day of Ramadan.
The e-commerce platform offers a wide range of products, including fresh fruits and vegetables.
With the launch of Hoot.ae, the ADCC completes the second phase of the project, which promotes the concept of social economy through its unique community-driven approach that enhances the shopping experience and supports the community while contributing to the inclusive development process in the UAE. . The electronic marketplace aims to increase social and economic value by building cohesion and cooperation among community members.
The ADCC welcomed the holy month with a bouquet of community projects that instill compassion and solidarity during Ramadan. The entity also underlined the importance of the role of cooperatives in sustainable development, as it prepares the first initial public offering (IPO) for its online platform Hoot and Hoot market.
Commenting on the launch of phase two, Mubarak Al Hilali, CEO of ADCC, said, “The rapid change in consumer behavior since the onset of the global pandemic has proven the inevitability of businesses transitioning online, regardless of or the sector. In its first phase, Hoot offers 100,000 products and will steadily expand its product portfolio to reach 1 million products by the end of 2022. It will offer quality products at competitive prices to drive the value of positive consumption and development oriented.
The online cooperative marketplace provides electronics, fashion and beauty products, home and office appliances, books, groceries, healthcare and baby products. Other product offerings include a choice of picnic, camping and sports products.
