An online marketplace for children and maternity care products made in Africa, ChildAfrique, is committed to promoting African products in the global marketplace.
The company’s founder and CEO, Aronke Feyi-Emmanuel, said ChildAfrique is different from other online shopping platforms as it is streamlined to provide locally made essential products for women and children.
“ChildAfrique only comes for child care and maternity products. We have further narrowed it down to items made in African countries. Not just in Nigeria, we have suppliers and partners from Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and South Africa who come to list their products on ChildAfrique. We have over 47 Nigerian vendors and over 260 locally made childcare products on display,” she said.
She pointed out that the aim of the online platform is to encourage Africans, especially Nigerians, to use locally made products for maternity and child care.
The President of the African Startups Association and the African Government Shareholder Engagement Forum, Just Ibe, said the online shopping platform will create more jobs, foreign exchange, strengthen the economy and amplify the African brand.
